Investigating the relationship between workplace spirituality and organizational citizenship behaviors(Case study: a military organization in Tehran)

Abstract

In this study, the effect of workplace spirituality in three dimensions , Work with meaning, sense of solidarity and alignment of values on citizenship and organizational behavior are examined. A questionnaire was used to collect information. Questionnaire related to workplace spirituality based on the workplace spirituality questionnaire by Millman and Colleagues (2003) and in 20 questions and questionnaires of organizational citizen behavior also adapted from Podsakov and Colleagues tools (1990) Used with 24 questions. The statistical population includes all the staff of a deputy of one of the military organizations in Tehran (107 people). Out of 107 questionnaires distributed, 91 usable questionnaires were collected. In order to show the correlation between the dimensions of spirituality in the workplace from the correlation test and in order to examine the relationships between the variables, first the Pearson’s correlation coefficient test Was used and After confirming the correlation between the variables, the structural equation modeling method was used to test the practical relationships.Based on the results, the main hypothesis and sub-hypotheses of the research, ie the relationship between the spirituality of the work environment and all its dimensions with organizational citizenship behavior is confirmed That is, the more spiritual the work environment and its components in the organization, the higher the incidence of organizational citizenship behaviors is expected.
