Abstract

The main goal of the present study is to design the model of commercialization of innovations in the commercial explosives industry. This research was conducted qualitatively and with grounded theory technique. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews. In this regard, 10 interviews have been conducted with university professors and experts in the field of commercialization and according to the research topic. Then, based on the theoretical systematic approach of Strauss and Corbin in three main steps of open coding, central coding and selective coding, the model of commercialization of innovations was presented. The results of coding the conducted interviews have shown that the causal factors that bring about the commercialization of innovations in the commercial explosives industry are mainly related to seven factors. The horizontal and vertical development of products is considered the most important structure of causal conditions. Competitiveness has been another widely used construct. Most experts believe that the competition in this industry is high and this issue multiplies the importance of commercialization. The drivers of explosives technologies and the response to the widespread need for the consumption of commercial explosives are in the next rank. Also, the creation of economic added value and access to international markets and the use of potential capacities are other structures of the model of commercialization of innovations in the commercial explosives industry.
