Background & Purpose: A study of the economic policies of the Prophet (PBUH) shows that principles such as self-sufficiency, economic justice, combating hoarding, and regulating the market have been considered as the main axes of the resistance economy in his government policies. Resistance economy has always been emphasized as a solution to confront economic threats and create economic stability in Islamic societies. This research was conducted with the aim of identifying the characteristics of resistance economy in the governance of the Prophet (PBUH).
Methodology: This research was conducted using a descriptive-analytical method and used historical sources, the Prophet's life, and the hadiths of the Prophet (PBUH). The data were extracted through qualitative content analysis and the main themes of resistance economy in the governance of the Prophet (PBUH) were identified and classified.
Findings: The findings of this study show that the Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) governance style contains a systematic model for realizing an Islamic resistance economy that is based on key concepts such as economic jihad, avoiding usury, fighting short selling, implementing independence-oriented policies, and maintaining economic order and justice. These characteristics, through cause-and-effect relationships and in the form of four stages of culture building, structural reform, supporting production, and realizing economic justice, increase economic resilience, strengthen public trust, and reduce vulnerability to enemy economic threats. The coordinated role of the Islamic state, economic society, and religious institutions in realizing these characteristics indicates the ability of this model to recreate the economic civilization of Islam in the present era.
Conclusion: The governance style of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is considered a comprehensive and efficient model in implementing the principles of the resistance economy. Using ethical principles in trade, strengthening domestic production, and preventing monopolization are among the solutions that can lead to economic stability in Islamic societies. In the current situation, reviewing economic policies based on the Prophet's style can be a way to deal with contemporary economic crises.
