Effective and capable logistics is necessary to fulfill the tasks and missions of operational and combat units. A serious responsibility that requires committed and expert employees .One of the primary mechanisms and requirements for the effective and efficient management of these employees is the design of competency models for effective and efficient recruitment, training and employment of employees. Therefore, in this research, we have designed the competency model of the logistics staff of the Air Defense Force of the Islamic Republic of Iran as the main goal of the research. The current research is considered mixed in terms of research type and applied in terms of purpose. In the first stage of this research, the conceptual model of the research was developed using exploratory studies. In the second stage, using the data obtained from the questionnaire and statistical tests, the reliability and fit of the model was examined. In the qualitative part, after collecting the data, the theme analysis method was used to analyze the interviews. In the quantitative section, the data has been analyzed using the structural equation test and SPSS and Smart PLS software. The reliability of the questionnaire was confirmed with Cronbach's alpha coefficient of 0.87 . The results of the logistic staff competency model research include two dimensions of general competencies and specialized competencies. General competencies include personality traits, work ethics, communication skills, physical and movement fitness, and thinking skills. Specialized competencies include technical (specialized) knowledge, skills, decision making, development and training, initiative and teamwork. The results of the research, while reducing the existing theoretical gap, provide a comprehensive understanding of the competencies of logistics employees of the target organization. Also, research findings can be used as a basis for the modification or redesign of human resource management systems.
